Many audio folks out there have been skeptical over the years about ‘switching amps’ or ‘class D’ type amps. Times have changed. We’ve now heard several very good switching amps, including the Devialet integrated unit we had a loan for awhile. But one of our favorite new Integrated amplifiers is the Audio Research DSi200. When Audio Research does something, they do it right. They always focus on the music. If you haven’t had a chance to hear our production ARC DSi200, it’s time to give it a listen! (We had a pre-prodution unit on loan last year for a month). The character of this Integrated is extremely natural, neutral, fast, and powerful. We’ve now broken in a lot of our new speaker lines with it (Nola, Harbeth, etc.) and we are continually impressed with what this Integrated does with each and every speaker. Review here.
