(UPDATE: The ProAc D30R Speakers, Focal 1028 Be’s and Naim DAC-1 are all broken in and sound beautiful. Audition them today!) We’ve just gotten in the brand brand new ProAc D30R floor stander speakers, and these things are beauties. We’re still breaking them in, so you may have to wait until Sept 1 to hear them, but these things are going to be AMAZING! We also just got in a new pair of Focal 1028Be floor standing speakers that are equally gorgeous. (and yes, still breaking those in as well. Patience grasshopper. Patience). If you heard there larger 1038 Be sibling speakers we had in earlier this year, you know just how special this speaker line is. We also have a slew of other great new products, including several new pieces from Naim, like the new SuperNait. We also have the previously mentioned DAC V1. If you’re just kicking around home this weekend/week wondering what to do, get in here and listen to some great music! Speaking of Focal, we have there wonderful and affordable new Chorus 700 line in, that have really beautiful new finishes that you have to see to truly appreciate. We also are hearing we should have some really great new wireless solutions coming that will make it easy to add wireless audio to nearly anything. (and don’t forget our Kanto Yumi and AudioPro wireless speakers we have)

Check out the new Chord Qute PCM/DSD DAC that we have here and set up for audition! It sounds really beautiful. It’s a stripped down version of their highly regarded more expensive DAC. While obviously not as featured as the top end DAC , it has nearly all of the beautiful performance/sound of their top end DAC, utilizing their same proprietary DAC from the higher priced DAC. It does 24/192, DSD, and even 32/384 for those file formats starting to trickle out. Toslink, Asynchronous USB, and COAX digital, with unbalanced RCA stereo out. We now have the amazing new Rega RP-8, with an upgraded cartridge, the Dynavector XX-2 MC  up and running and sounding AMAZING! This is the brand new skeleton style plinth that Rega has been working on for quite awhile, and now it’s finally out in the wild, and ready to play some sweet analog sounds! In addition to the new plinth, it comes with a new tonearm bearing assembly, a 24v low volt-age motor controlled by the TTPSU, and a custom version of the P9 hub bearing assembly. With the RB808 Tonearm, new plinth, and other enhancements, this new table gets you as close as you can get to Rega’s best, at a much lower price point. You can also use the new table with it’s outer plinth and dust cover. This is one special turntable, and is already garnering great praise from around the industry. Read here.

One of the benefits of being in the NW, is the close proximity to some wonderful HiFi makers. Case in point, Shunyata Research up in Poulsbo, WA. We had an informative visit from Richard of Shunyata today, and he left us with a whole stack of goodies! Shunyata Research’s new reference power distribution Hydra Triton+Typhon! These are on loan for us to demo this month, so now is your chance to check out what all of the press is going crazy about! (review here) The Shunyata Triton was already an amazing product, but designer Caelin Gabriel decided to take it to the next level with a no limits two box option, adding on the Shunyata Typhon and connecting it with an Anaconda umbilical chord. While you could spring for the whole set up, you can also take a ‘build as you go’ approach. This combination reaches reference levels never before seen in a Shunyata product. But the real test is in what it does for your music. Come in to hear about this amazing set up and hear an audition before they make us send the complete setup back!

We have several new Naim Audio pieces in that are on our floor and ready for audition. A new streamer (ND5 XS), a new preamplifier (NAC-N XS), and one of Naim’s more affordable separate amplifiers (NAP 200) to compliment these pieces. First up, the new Naim ND5 XS, this is the ‘junior’ model to the well reviewed NDX. While in a slimmer case, this is hardly a ‘stripped down version,’ it can do almost all that it’s big brother does, all with the same sonic prowess. It can be used at the core of your home audio network in both a wired or streaming scenario. It handles all lossy files and high resolution files up to 24/192, as well as being able to stream internet radio stations. You can connect your CD player, USB sticks, and computer, and it can integrate easily with the Naim DAC or any connected Naim CD player, Preamplifier or an optional FM tuner radio module. (more…)

The brand new affordable Micromega MyDAC that’s been getting all of the buzz is here! And we have several in stock. We’re just putting it through the paces, but when we heard it at a recent show, we were blown away considering the affordable price. And many other reviewers all agree. Robert Harley from The Absolute Sound calls it “The (affordable) Miracle” (read his review here). About the size of an Mac Mini, it packs quite a great array of features: SPDIF coaxial, TosLink optical, Asynchronous USB (about to pass up to 24/192). Not only that, it’s not made in China at this price… it’s still made in France. Come in today to audition this mighty mini wonder!

We’ve got some pretty cool new gear in right now. And the big word is: SPEAKERS! We have the newer mid-level Fact 8 PMC Speakers in (review here), as well as the return of the amazing mid-level Electra Focal beryllium speakers, the Focal 1038 Be. Both of these are pretty amazing sets of speakers, that will allow you to hear a level of detail you’ve probably never experienced before. And to top that off, we are demoing a pair of Martin Logan Ethos speakers on a trial basis. While you might be able to find some of the ‘entry level’ Martin Logans in town, this is your chance for a limited time to hear a set of some of Martin Logan’s better Electrostatic speakers. And if that weren’t enough, the big DAC buzz in the industry has been about the Micromega MyDAC, and we’re supposed to have our shipment in of them on Tuesday! If you haven’t been in to visit us here at Stereotypes Audio, now’s the time to ‘pay us a visit!’
