We have so much new stuff in this week, it may take a day to post all of the info about it! But we wanted to let you know you should come check us out this weekend! Here’s what is new: Stereotypes Audio is now a Harbeth Speaker dealer again! We have the Harbeth Compact 7SE3s in Cherry on demo. We also have the new compact Focal XS Book powered speakers, that are very cool looking, sound great, and make a wonderful partner to your desktop computer setup, or TV. We have the new DAC Magic Plus from Cambridge Audio on demo. We also have received word that Rega has officially announced the Rega RP6 turntable! They should be in either end of the year or beginning of January! We plan to have a red floor model, but expect a whole plethora of colors for the RP6! This is a model that will be somewhere between a P5 (discontinued and gone) and P7… but expect sound near on par with the P7. We expect great things from this new table! Come visit us and see all of the wonderful new goodies!!!!

We had a great time at this year’s Rocky Mountain AudioFest Show. This was our first trip to the show in Denver, and apparently it was one of the biggest ones yet. A great time was had by all, good music, great audio, amazing food, and even our hotel had over 15 amazing microbrews on tap. Does it get any better? We really enjoyed hooking up with several of our favorite distributors and brands. (more…)

The new Bird from Focal is here! If you haven’t heard any of the buzz yet on this amazing compact system, prepare to be blown away. The Bird is a concept line of Focal loudspeakers created to satisfy the expectations of music lovers in terms of both innovation and ease of use. Maximum music in the smallest possible size in an affordable package. All with a strong identity.  It’s great for the office as a desktop computer set up, allowing for the main unit with sub to sit below the monitor, or as a small room 2.1 system to hang right on the wall with your flat screen TV, a kitchen, bedroom. The gorgeous new Simaudio 600i Dual-Mono Integrated Amplifier is now on demo at Stereotypes Audio (Portland, Oregon). This was well reviewed in The Absolute Sound and Soundstage, and we have it in the stunning black/silver combination with it’s companion Simaudio 650D, which is their new CD transport and DAC unit. (it’s bigger sibling has also been heavily praised). This unit is slim, sleek and beautiful. You can find out more on the units here and here. (The older highly awarded Moon i-7 was replaced by the 700i and 600i, with the 600i being the 125watt version). Wow, we have a lot of new gear on demo that you REALLY have to come in and listen to! By the way, Simaudio products have a ‘trade-up’ program. Just ask us about it.

We just got the new Rega Brio-R in, and we’re breaking it in along with the new PSB Imagine Mini speakers. This combo may represent one of the best values for top notch sound for the least price ever! The Brio has gone up slightly in cost, but has gone down in size to the smaller form factor that the Rega DAC has. In fact they make a great pair together. We just got the new Simaudio 340i Integrated Amplifier (sold some places as the i3.3) into stock here at our Portland, Oregon store. We’ve been playing the heck out of it and it’s ready for a listen! We’ve got the fully stocked DPX model (DAC, Phono, Balanced inputs) with all of the bells and whistles. You can always order your unit as a base model, and add the extras later if you want. This is a really sweet sounding amp with good power for those looking for an all in one unit. (more…)

New Rega Osiris is back on display and ready for audition. Originally we had a touring demo, but now permanently have added the Osiris to our demos. We liked it that much! Find out more information here and here.
