Micromega HD Audio (Made in France) returns to Stereotypes Audio of Portland, Oregon. Many years ago we carried this great line of hifi audio products, and we are proud to once again carry this high quality/high value line. All of the Micromega products feature an elegant slim line design. Stereotypes Audio of Portland, Oregon has just picked up the Micromega HiFi line from France. We’re still unboxing, breaking them in and putting them through all of the paces, but the early sampling has shown great promise. We had a demo unit that we really liked and are hearing about their great value when it comes to features, power and sound. We plan to have several of their products such as their Pre-Amplifiers, Integrated Amplifiers and Power Amplifiers. Stay tuned for more information as we dig in further. Forget about those cheap Big Box USB turntables for ripping your vinyl…. If you already have a decent turntable, then look no further than the new Rega Fono Mini. It’s a great little phono preamplifier AND has a USB connection with an ADC that can convert your vinyl to computer format at standard 16/44 CD resolution. It’s a quick way to get your old vinyl into your computer and have an outboard phono stage that is a great little performer for the price! Come in and pick one up and start ripping your vinyl for your ‘on the go’ listening.

We had a great time at this year’s Rocky Mountain AudioFest Show. This was our first trip to the show in Denver, and apparently it was one of the biggest ones yet. A great time was had by all, good music, great audio, amazing food, and even our hotel had over 15 amazing microbrews on tap. Does it get any better? We really enjoyed hooking up with several of our favorite distributors and brands. (more…)

Stereotypes Audio of Portland has the new John Curl Designed Parasound JC-3 Phono Preamplifier. This new phono stage has been getting a lot of great reviews and press lately. In the ‘over $2k’ category doesn’t make it an entry level phono stage, but for the sound it produces, it squarely puts it in the high value range and competes very well against the big budget phono preamplifiers out there. There’s so much to like and talk about with this new Parasound piece, but it would be better if you just read the reviews and then came in to give it a listen! We just got the new Simaudio 340i Integrated Amplifier (sold some places as the i3.3) into stock here at our Portland, Oregon store. We’ve been playing the heck out of it and it’s ready for a listen! We’ve got the fully stocked DPX model (DAC, Phono, Balanced inputs) with all of the bells and whistles. You can always order your unit as a base model, and add the extras later if you want.
