We thought we’d catch you up to date on a few exciting new items… Stereotypes Audio of Portland is becoming a Clearaudio dealer, with new product on it’s way. We will let you know when it arrives. The brand new affordable Micromega MyDAC that’s been getting all of the buzz is here! And we have several in stock. We’re just putting it through the paces, but when we heard it at a recent show, we were blown away considering the affordable price. And many other reviewers all agree. Robert Harley from The Absolute Sound calls it “The (affordable) Miracle” (read his review here). About the size of an Mac Mini, it packs quite a great array of features: SPDIF coaxial, TosLink optical, Asynchronous USB (about to pass up to 24/192). Not only that, it’s not made in China at this price… it’s still made in France. Come in today to audition this mighty mini wonder!

We’ve got some pretty cool new gear in right now. And the big word is: SPEAKERS! We have the newer mid-level Fact 8 PMC Speakers in (review here), as well as the return of the amazing mid-level Electra Focal beryllium speakers, the Focal 1038 Be. Both of these are pretty amazing sets of speakers, that will allow you to hear a level of detail you’ve probably never experienced before. And to top that off, we are demoing a pair of Martin Logan Ethos speakers on a trial basis. While you might be able to find some of the ‘entry level’ Martin Logans in town, this is your chance for a limited time to hear a set of some of Martin Logan’s better Electrostatic speakers. And if that weren’t enough, the big DAC buzz in the industry has been about the Micromega MyDAC, and we’re supposed to have our shipment in of them on Tuesday! If you haven’t been in to visit us here at Stereotypes Audio, now’s the time to ‘pay us a visit!’

Many years ago we carried this great line of hifi audio products, and we are proud to once again carry this high quality/high value line. All of the Micromega products feature an elegant slim line design. Somehow we let this one slip through the web blog cracks…. we have permanently on our showroom floor, the well reviewed Simaudio Moon 600i Integrated Amplifier. We’ve been putting it through the full paces over the past month or so and are completely smitten! For those that loved the Simaudio Moon i-5 and i-7, you’re gonna LOVE this new Moon 600i! Rated conservatively at 125 watts per channel (into 8ohms) in a dual mono design, this thing can really move music! It integrates many of Simaudio’s new technologies and advancements, but you really just need to hear it. And it has the usual gorgeous Simaudio case work. Can you feel the love yet already? Stereotypes Audio of Portland, Oregon has just picked up the Micromega HiFi line from France. We’re still unboxing, breaking them in and putting them through all of the paces, but the early sampling has shown great promise. We had a demo unit that we really liked and are hearing about their great value when it comes to features, power and sound. We plan to have several of their products such as their Pre-Amplifiers, Integrated Amplifiers and Power Amplifiers. Stay tuned for more information as we dig in further. After depleting our stock of ProAc speakers during our amazing Anniversary Sale last month, we now have our usual in stock supply of ProAc Speakers back in stock. We also now have the well regarded D28 floor standers in, and are breaking them in. The D28s are one of our favorite sets of speakers, and we can’t wait to demo them for you! We recently received the new Simaudio 650 DAC/CD transport, and have it starting to break in. This is an amazing combo of top level Simaudio DAC, combined with a CD transport. Show Newport: Focal’s sleek XS Book multimedia speaker system was making big sound, playing music from a laptop (through plain-old iTunes, I think) and connected to Cambridge Audio’s smart DacMagic Plus (Also sold at Stereotypes Audio). We recently got the new Marantz M-CR603 Receiver in, and we’re still finding out new things that it can do. It’s even AirPlay compatible with a system update. Think of it as a compact swiss army knife of audio, streaming and networking audio, and it STILL has a CD drive. How rare are physical disc transports getting these days? It will play CDs, CD-Rs, MP3s and WMAs. It’s also able to network via Ethernet using DLNA. It streams Pandora, Rhapsody and Napster, all while driving up to four speakers.
