The new ProAc entry level Response speaker is out, and they are truly stunning! The ProAc DB1s are gorgeous to look at, and sound amazing, all in a compact package. If you love the Response D2s, these are a great compliment to the D2. You have to hear them to appreciate how great a compact speaker can sound! You can watch a review in video form here.

We have the brand new Bluesound Pulse Soundbar in stock and ready to audition in our Home Theater room. There are many soundbars out there, and we carry several… but this one is a real stunner and worth the audition. You have to hear it to truly appreciate it. If you have a small space and a TV with bad sound difficult to hear, this is your answer!

We have the newer Spendor SP3/1R2 stand mounted speakers on our floor and they are ready to audition. As per usual, they have stunning wood cabinet finishes as standard, and that amazing Spendor sound! Come audition them today!

We have the new Rogue RP1 tube Preamplifier ready to demo in our bamboo listening room, and wow… is this sounding gorgeous! It’s quite an amazing value! We’ve been listening to it with the Harbeth P3ESRs and it’s a wonderful combination! It comes with a top notch phono stage built in. Also, if you’ve already checked out the Focal Sopra No.2 floor standers we have, we now have a pair in red! It’s like having a Ferrari parked in our main listening room. Truly stunning. Visually and musically.

We just got in the brand new Record Doctor V cleaning machine, for you vinyl enthusiasts out there! We’re just testing it out it’s so new! Come check it out! For those of you looking for heavy duty metal speaker stands that are fillable, we have some new options now in stock. In both a heavy weight as well as a mid-weight version. Some quick news… We got the new Moon by Simaudio ACE that everyone has been waiting for in stock now, and it’s sounding great right now! We also just got a bunch of brand new Rega Planar 3 turntables in. They have returned to the original Planar moniker.

If you’ve been following the news from CES this spring, you probably saw news that Naim Audio had developed a smaller/less expensive version of it’s much lauded Mu-so speaker music player, the Naim Audio Mu-So Qb. This perfect sized cube is actually larger in person than it looks in the photos, and it produces music equally as big. It’s amazing how much tech they’ve crammed into such a small unit with this level of musical quality. The same great volume knob and functionality as it’s bigger sibling, the Qb is sure to be a great solution for filling your room with music in an easy to move package. In the quickly changing landscape of music source delivery, there’s a growing need to store all of these music files, as well as isolate them from sources like a computer. The latest issue of The Absolute Sound showing casing the Product of the Year 2015, has products carried by Portland’s Stereotypes Audio well represented. For AC Power Cord of the Year, our Shunyata Sigma power cord (in analog or digital, HC) got top nods. The Kimber Select cable line received top “Interconnects & Cables of the year” with the KS 6068 speaker wire, KS 1036 RCA interconnects and KS 1136 balanced interconnects. In the Portable DAC of the year, the Chord Hugo takes top nods. This is a great battery powered DAC for on the road, or even at home with DSD 128 and up to 384kHz PCM. And for those that want ‘more bass’, the JL Audio Gotham and CR-1 Crossover take “Cost No Object” sub of the year. While were not currently running the Gotham with the CR-1, we have tried it with our new JL Audio Fathom v2 and it sounds fantastic! And our new Harbeth SuperHL5plus Loudspeaker took “Upper-End Stand-Mount Loudspeaker” of the year. Thinking of going vinyl? Our Rega RP-10 took their top honors for “Mid-Priced Turntable of the Year”, but we have turntables at nearly every price point… especially at the entry level range. And always in the ‘overachiever’ category is the Rogue line up of products, our Rogue Audio RP-5 took “Affordable Preamplifier of the Year” award for best tubed line stage. As always, there were several top products that we carry feeling ‘robbed’ for not garnering their own top honors, but we couldn’t be greedy and take all of the awards home. Featured Product: Focal Sopra Speaker Line: No. 1 and No. 2

Our featured product this quarter is one that has been very highly anticipated since it’s announcement at the Munich show this year. Within hours of delivery the new Focal Sopra line of loudspeakers had already begun fully delivering on that promise in spades. Now fully broken in, our Focal Sopra No. 1 and No. 2 speakers continue to amaze every listener that has heard them. We’ve been huge fans of the Focal Utopia III speaker line we carry (as well as all of our other Focal speakers), but there was always a gap between the Focal Electra line and the Utopia line. Both in price and size.

We have the new Rega RX1 standmount speakers and Rega RX3 floorstander speakers in stock and ready to audition! The new RX line replaces the outgoing RS line, and comes in the One, Three, and Five models. The Rega RX-ONE loudspeaker system delivers balance, detail and dynamics and use a unique handmade set of Rega designed drivers and crossovers. Both the RX1 and RX3 have newly developed DX-125 bassmid-range driver (using a doped paper cone) and combines perfectly with the Rega ZRR high frequency unit. The RX3s add a dedicated side firing bass driver to the mix. You can find more info here.

Ignore the ELAC speaker on top… it’s the stand under that really counts! Just had a chance to audition these IsoAcoustic speaker stand upgrades, and wow! Even with ‘value’ oriented speakers, it took them to a whole other level! It really cleaned up and focused the overall presentation, and hearing an acoustic bass with them? Wow. The attack on the strings became so much more real. One of the best upgrades to come along in awhile! Come audition one of these upgrades today! You can watch one of their demo videos here. Brand new to our Harbeth line up of loudspeakers, we have the new Harbeth Super HL5 Plus speakers, which are sounding rather amazing! You have to here them to really appreciate them. One reviewer called them “A sonic ‘Tardis’ that fills the room space completely…” While were not sure what Doctor Who has to do with loudspeakers, the sound is amazing enough that we can go with that analogy.
