So brand spankin’ new, there’s very little information about it even up at JL Audio’s own site, we now have it and are getting it ready for the floor. This new product will provide a much needed tool in your arsenal to seamlessly blend your great JL Audio Fathom, Gotham or E-Sub into your main speaker system. Spender has always been a well regarded British loudspeaker company, but with the new Spender D7 speakers, they’ve really hit their stride! Great precision, detail and dynamics, these babies can really sing! All of the great hallmark Spender sound, but the D7s come with a load of excitement as well. This comes partly due to the LPZ tweeter with it’s unique and beautiful Stainless Steel front plate. These tweeters add lots of detail, but still blend well with the whole. The Spender A9, A6, and SP2s have been well reviewed and liked, but the D7s top them all. (more…)

Stereotypes Audio of Portland, Oregon is pleased to announce the arrival of the Focal Utopia III line with the addition of the Scala V2 floorstand speakers! We’ve added these to the Diablo’s we already have on our showroom floor. We’re in the process of breaking in these beautiful giants, and we can’t wait to have you give them a listen! The three-way floor standing loudspeaker Scala V2 is an improvement over the previous well received Scala’s, and are the benefactor of ‘trickle down’ from Focal’s top of the line Grande Utopia and Stella Utopia speakers. The new bass unit provides more power and grip, while retaining the lush mid-range, creating a focused and gorgeous soundstage. The Scala’s feature their Beryllium tweeter, Power Flower midrange W driver , 11″ W woofer, and OPC+ filtering with adjustable bass and treble levels. Made entirely in France with all Focal JM Lab tech and build from the ground up, the beauties weigh 187lb each and stand 49″ tall, and are highly efficient at 92dB, capable of some truly amazing SPLs, while retaining a lush natural musical performance. We’re pleased to announce that Stereotypes Audio of Portland is now a full Focal Utopia Speaker line dealer. We have the stand mounted Diablo Utopia‘s in, and are breaking them in right now. They are already sounding amazing! We have an additional Utopia speaker pair coming soon as well, so stay tuned! If you’re looking for a great stocking stuffer, we  new products in stock, and ready to wrap for the holidays! Come grab one (or two). We also have the two amazing turntables up and running, the Rega RP-8, and the Clearaudio Ovation. In our smaller demo room, we now have the Arcam A19 Integrated Amplifier, running at 50wpc with a phono stage. Speaking of Arcam, we have a great deal right now on an Arcam FMJ P777 Multichannel Amplifier. Lastly, we have the new Focal Aria 948 floor stander creating some beautiful music upstairs. (UPDATE: The ProAc D30R Speakers, Focal 1028 Be’s and Naim DAC-1 are all broken in and sound beautiful. Audition them today!) We’ve just gotten in the brand brand new ProAc D30R floor stander speakers, and these things are beauties. We’re still breaking them in, so you may have to wait until Sept 1 to hear them, but these things are going to be AMAZING! We also just got in a new pair of Focal 1028Be floor standing speakers that are equally gorgeous. (and yes, still breaking those in as well. Patience grasshopper. Patience). If you heard there larger 1038 Be sibling speakers we had in earlier this year, you know just how special this speaker line is. We also have a slew of other great new products, including several new pieces from Naim, like the new SuperNait. We also have the previously mentioned DAC V1. If you’re just kicking around home this weekend/week wondering what to do, get in here and listen to some great music! Speaking of Focal, we have there wonderful and affordable new Chorus 700 line in, that have really beautiful new finishes that you have to see to truly appreciate. We also are hearing we should have some really great new wireless solutions coming that will make it easy to add wireless audio to nearly anything. (and don’t forget our Kanto Yumi and AudioPro wireless speakers we have)

A self-powered speaker that’s small and sounds great. Vanatoo’s Transparent One compact size and great sound makes it convenient to use as a desktop speaker system or with a wireless setup.  Coupled with its multiple digital inputs and custom passive radiator for extended bass, this is a speaker that simply must be checked out! Two finishes available: black and natural cherry.

We’ve got some pretty cool new gear in right now. And the big word is: SPEAKERS! We have the newer mid-level Fact 8 PMC Speakers in (review here), as well as the return of the amazing mid-level Electra Focal beryllium speakers, the Focal 1038 Be. Both of these are pretty amazing sets of speakers, that will allow you to hear a level of detail you’ve probably never experienced before. And to top that off, we are demoing a pair of Martin Logan Ethos speakers on a trial basis. While you might be able to find some of the ‘entry level’ Martin Logans in town, this is your chance for a limited time to hear a set of some of Martin Logan’s better Electrostatic speakers. And if that weren’t enough, the big DAC buzz in the industry has been about the Micromega MyDAC, and we’re supposed to have our shipment in of them on Tuesday!
