It’s hard to believe that Focal could come out with another simple solution as good as The Bird 2.1 setup, but they’ve released another compact winner! The Focal XS Book is the ultimate computer 2.0 system, a true mini-monitor equipped with Focal speaker technologies and able to reveal the richness and dynamics of your multimedia audio contents. (wow, that was a mouthful, but that’s the best way to put it!) We have so much new stuff in this week, it may take a day to post all of the info about it! But we wanted to let you know you should come check us out this weekend! Here’s what is new: Stereotypes Audio is now a Harbeth Speaker dealer again! We have the Harbeth Compact 7SE3s in Cherry on demo. We also have the new compact Focal XS Book powered speakers, that are very cool looking, sound great, and make a wonderful partner to your desktop computer setup, or TV. We have the new DAC Magic Plus from Cambridge Audio on demo. We also have received word that Rega has officially announced the Rega RP6 turntable! They should be in either end of the year or beginning of January! We plan to have a red floor model, but expect a whole plethora of colors for the RP6! This is a model that will be somewhere between a P5 (discontinued and gone) and P7… but expect sound near on par with the P7. We expect great things from this new table! Come visit us and see all of the wonderful new goodies!!!!

We had a great time at this year’s Rocky Mountain AudioFest Show. This was our first trip to the show in Denver, and apparently it was one of the biggest ones yet. A great time was had by all, good music, great audio, amazing food, and even our hotel had over 15 amazing microbrews on tap. Does it get any better? We really enjoyed hooking up with several of our favorite distributors and brands. (more…)

The new Bird from Focal is here! If you haven’t heard any of the buzz yet on this amazing compact system, prepare to be blown away. The Bird is a concept line of Focal loudspeakers created to satisfy the expectations of music lovers in terms of both innovation and ease of use. Maximum music in the smallest possible size in an affordable package. All with a strong identity.  It’s great for the office as a desktop computer set up, allowing for the main unit with sub to sit below the monitor, or as a small room 2.1 system to hang right on the wall with your flat screen TV, a kitchen, bedroom. Stereotypes Audio is the only place in Portland, Oregon that you can get the Cambridge Audio iD100 Digital Dock. This is great for Recording Professionals, Home Studios and Project Studios that want to get the high end direct digital signal out of your iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone. There are so many great apps out there that make these Apple devices indispensable to the modern recording professional. It also can be a great audiophile dock to get the digital signal into a better DAC (since the iPad, iPod and iPhone has a ‘modest’ DAC in them). They have an outboard power supply, a video output, a AES/EBU XLR digital Audio Out, a Toslink digital audio out, a S/PDIF / Co-axial Out, and even a USB socket for easy syncing.
